About Hearne Vol. Fire Dept.:
Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. proudly protects 4690 people living in an area of 85 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. strives to keep the best updated technology and equipment for the City of Hearne and the communities we serve. The City of Hearne lies in the intersection of State Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 79. The Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. also holds their own hands on training for probationary firefighters as well as for the veteran firefighters. Probationary firefighters undergo a six month probationary period. The Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. actively participates in training at the Emergency Services Training Institute located at Brayton Fire Field on the Texas A&M University campus, College Station, Texas. The Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. has mutual aid agreements with the City of Bryan Fire Dept. and surrounding rural towns to include: Blackjack Community, Calvert, Cameron, Franklin, and Gause. The Hearne Vol. Fire Dept. also serves a large rural area in northwestern and southwestern Robertson County. The department is funded by the City of Hearne and operates off of a budget of $100,000 plus a year. The department also holds annual fundraisers to help subsidize the budget. The department now currently receives additional funding from the Robertson County Rural Fire Prevention District.
