About Kings County Fire Department:
Kings County Fire Department proudly protects 118000+ people living in an area of 1396 square miles. We operate out of 11 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The Kings County Fire Department has experienced a continual increase in the number of calls received since 1985. In 1998 KCF responded to over 3,400 calls including numerous structure, vehicle, wildland and grass fires as well as calls for medical aide, traffic accidents, hazardous materials incidents and public assistance calls. Kings County is staffed by 50 highly dedicated professional firefighters, 3 Chief Officers, 1 Training Chief, 1 Fire Marshal, and 1 Fire Chief. Our administration office also houses the Emergency Operations Center for the Kings County Office of Emergency Services. Assistance is received through 11 Volunteer Companies within the County consisting of nearly 120 Volunteer members. The Department has met all challenges head on through aggressive training, hard work and the professionalism of a dedicated staff and look forward to continued service to the citizens of Kings County.
