Goldwater Range Fire Dept. proudly protects 1700 people living in an area of 20 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily airport area. Our department is a private department whose members are on a paid status. Welcome to the Diamond in the Desert, Goldwater Air Force Auxillary Range in sunny Arizona. We hope you will enjoy checking out all the different areas of our web sight. The significance of the Goldwater Range Fire Department patch is one of unity. Represented by the state flag of Arizona, which encompasses the background signifies the location. The F-16; The Fighting Falcon protects our freedom from aggression. The care of our natural resources is represented by the picturesque mountains, flowing river, green vegetation,along with the sonoran desert. And finally, the combined courage and talent of emergency units as entailed by the Maltese Cross and the Star of Life complete the meaning this patch. The Goldwater Range Fire Department proudly serves and protects mainly Air Force and Army assets. Our primary responsibility is to the Air Force and Army aircraft that are assigned to this remote location. These include F-16's, A-10's,Apache helicopters,and others. In addition to this great task, we also honor a mutual aid agreement with the town of Gila Bend and Gila Bend VFD. This small community, established in 1872, is located 65 miles SW of Phoenix, AZ. It has a population of over 1500 residents, plus numerous businesses, a local elementary and high school. We operate out of one station, which houses structural, crash/rescue, and EMS with ALS service.
