About Gilman Fire Department:
Gilman Fire Department proudly protects 300 people living in an area of 25 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are a small volunteer department in the Northeast Kingdon of Vermont. The village of Gilman is a small mill town housing Simpson Paper Company. We are located on the Conneticut River and work very closely with many of our neigbors across the river in New Hampshire. We currently have 15 firefighters and are always looking for good, willing, and dedicated volunteer's. We operate on a limited budget from the town of Lunenburg and with money that we receive in grants. We just recently purchased an in-station compressor system to try to reduce cost's to fill our SCBA cylinders. We recently received our 501C-3 Non-Profit certification which will allow us to go after more grants so that we can provide better coverage to the village of Gilman and the Town of Lunenburg. We would very much like to thank Simpson Paper Company of Seattle, Washington for the money they have given us in grants and for their continued support. We would also like to thank the Gilman-Lunenburg Rescue Squad, with whom we work very closely with for their continued support and dedication in providing emergency medical care to the citizens.
