About Gill Fire Department:
Gill Fire Department proudly protects 1600 people living in an area of 14 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status. The town is the home to the Mount Hermon campus of the largest private secondary school in New England: Northfield Mount Hermon. The campus has a residential population of about 1000, including students, staff and faculty. The students reside in ten dormitories, ranging from 2 1/2 wood frame dwellings to 4-story fire resistive, sprinklered buildings.
