About Georgetown County Fire Department:
Georgetown County Fire Department proudly protects 32000 people living in an area of 725 square miles. We operate out of 12 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Georgetown County is a coastal county located in the Grand Strand area bordering Horry County. Our Department uses career paid Lieutenants to man 12 stations Monday through Friday from 0830-1630. Assistance is given by responding volunteers during the day and our department relies solely upon volunteers at night and on weekends.
