About Fire District #1 - Johnson County:
Fire District #1 - Johnson County proudly protects 15000 people living in an area of 90 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Fire District #1 is a combination department that operates out of three fire stations each of which is equipped with a pumper, a tanker, and a grass unit. Station #3 is at the New Century Air Center and operates an ARFF unit in addition to the other units.
