About Freeport Volunteer Fire Department:
Freeport Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 3000 people living in an area of 100 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. About 25 active members, 10 of whom are EMT's. We have a Pierce pumper just purchased and a Ford pumper also a 2000 gallon tanker and our ambulance. We hold bingo every friday evening and our annual Firemens Fair in July which are our main fund raisers.
