About Junior Fire Company No. 2, Inc:
Established in 1838 after a major fire destoryed many house in Frederick County, several young men of the community met to organize another fire company. They began the rookie fire company in the quarters of the former Friendship Fire Company. Named the "Young Men's Fire Company" it was incorporated in 1840 as the Junior Fire Company.
