Macon County EMS proudly protects 30-60000 people living in an area of 517 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily commercial area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Macon County EMS serves Macon County in the southwest corner of NC. We are a paramedic level service providing both ALS and convalescent service to the citizens and visitors of Macon County. It is estimated that our population doubles from 27,000 to 60,000 in the summer months.
