About Franklin Fire Dept.:
Franklin Fire Dept. proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 8 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. In 1998 Franklin Fire Dept. underwent a complete revitalization from personnel to equipment. Today it has 3 full-time firefighters and 16 volunteers. In Feb. 1998 a new station was constructed and the dept.'s first aerial/quint was put into service. Effective Aug.2001, the City of Franklin will drop it's ISO rating from a Class 6 to Class 4. Franklin Fire Dept. supports a very aggressive Public Education/ Life Safety Program throughout entire Simpson Co. with the use of it's newly purchased Fire Safety House from Mobile Concepts.
