Fort Belvoir Emergency Medical Services proudly protects 35000/50000 people living in an area of 13.5 square miles. We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Fort Belvoir Emergency Medical Services proudly protects 35000/50000 people living in an area of 13.5 square miles. We operate out of One station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Fort Belvoir Emergency Medical Services proudly protects 35,000 people residentially, and approximately 50,000+ people during peak work hours on base, all in a 13.5 square mile area. Our department is a public safety agency of the Department of Defense/Department of the Army. Our paramedics are a combination of DOD Civilian Employees, DOD Contract Civilian Employees, and two military personnel. We are responsible for EMS coverage to the Fort Belvoir army installation which has a large number of housing for the military and their families. During the weekdays there is also a large civilian workforce. We also provide mutual aid response to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Fairfax County, Virginia. In addition FBEMS provides emergent and non-emergent transports for DeWitt Army Community Hospital, as well as other area military clinics and hospitals. Crash response is also provided for Davison Army Airfield, located on the edge of Fort Belvoir.
