All department members, resources and activities are dedicated to providing the highest quality emergency services, together with fire prevention and code enforcement to form a safer community. The Fire Department will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all of the necessary resources at our command to provide a service deemed excellent by our community and our members. The Community Served Flowood Fire Department proudly protects 12000 people living in an area of 16 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily commercial area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. THE FLOWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT STARTED AS VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION AND HAS DEVELOPED INTO THE ONLY CLASS 5 PROFESSONAL FIRE DEPARTMENT IN RANKIN COUNTY. WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE ALL FIREFIGHTERS TO COME AND VISIT OUR DEPARTMENT WHENEVER THEY ARE IN OUR AREA. THE FLOWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT SERVES A COMMUNITY OF MOSTLY INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES. THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO FD 9 TONY TADLOCK WHO LOST HIS LIFE IN THE LINE OF DUTY ON THE MORNING OF APRIL 3, 1988, IN AN ARSON FIRE. HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED!!
