About Erlanger Fire / EMS Department:
Erlanger Fire / EMS Department proudly protects 17000 people living in an area of 9 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. We are a municipal combination department made up of 144 personnel consisting of 114+ line Volunteers, 10 Career personnel, 27 Part time Firefighters/EMTs, Auxiliary, and Explorers Post. We operate out of two stations with 9 pieces of apparatus and 6 staff vehicles. Our Mission: The purpose and objective of the Erlanger Fire and EMS Department shall be: To provide emergency response to fires, explosions, life squad service, hazardous materials response at the operations level and other emergencies to the City of Erlanger, Kentucky and/or surrounding areas, and to provide other services for said territory as may be authorized by the Erlanger City Council; To promote Fire Prevention and Public Education, Safety Awareness, promote First Aid consciousness and goodwill in the community; To acquire and hold said purpose, money, real estate, or other property considered necessary by the City to carry out said objectives; and to do any and all things necessary or incidental to the accomplishment of such purpose; To accomplish these objectives with a combination of volunteers, career and part-time personnel.
