About Ekron Fire & Rescue Department:
Ekron Fire & Rescue Department proudly protects Approximately 3800 people living in an area of Approximately 47.5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Ekron Fire & Rescue Department was organized in 1976 to provide a range of programs consisting of: Firefighting, Emergency Medical Assists & Include supporting The Ekron Rescue Squad, designed to protect the Lives and Property of the inhabitants of the Ekron Fire Protection Service Area from exposure to Dangerous Conditions created by Man or Nature. We are funded mostly by dues paying members from our community. Ekron Fire & Rescue Department has 24 firefighters and 7 explorers. We have approximately 125 - 150 runs per year. We have 5 EMT's and 4 First Responders. Ekron Fire & Rescue Department makes about 75% of our runs with Meade County Ambulance Service performing EMS Assists.
