About Dexter Rural Fire District:
Dexter Rural Fire District proudly protects 3000 people living in an area of 21 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. We are a small rural department with a chief and 23 volunteers, serving rural community of farms, residential, and bussinesses. District covers 13 miles of Oregon Highway 58, a 15 mile stretch of the Willamette River, 16 miles of Southern Pacific Railroad, and 2 large lakes, Dexter and Lookout Point. District responds from 1 station with 2 engines, 1 rav/command vehicle, 1 rescue vehicle, 1 water tender, and 1 mini-pumper. Special equipment includes :Rescue boat, hydraulic extrication tools, and steep angle rescue equipment.
