About Denham Springs Fire Department:
Denham Springs Fire Department proudly protects 10,300 people living in an area of 25 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are paid. Having 27 paid personnel we are trained for a variety of emergencies: For EMS: we have 18 First Responders, 5 EMT-B and 2 EMT-P; For Haz-Mat Incidents: 23 are trained at Haz-Mat Operations Level and 3 at Haz-Mat Technician Level. We also have 5 Certified Training Officers. We feel we have a well rounded department to meet all emergencies and we are continueing our education to stay abreast of today's changing world. We had a total of 1682 calls for the year 2005 (up from 1307 for 2004 and 1275 for 2003), with only a $424,200 or 10.08% loss on a total of $4,209,000. Being just east of Baton Rouge and having an increase of population, residential construction is on the rise.
