The Cranford Fire Department was officially organized on November 10th 1892 and was named the Union Hose Company,No 1 Five months after the Hose company was formed, Cranford Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 was in service. The date, April 17th 1893. Our department has obviously grown over the years, as many around us have. The fire departments run numbers have also increased. We have taken on more responsibility with sub-code, fire prevention, and fire inspection duties. EMS has played a big role in our daily routine as well. The department never turns down a call for assistance from the Cranford First Aid Squad. Our Dept has 14 EMT-D Trained Firefighters, and 11 first responder defibrillator trained firefighters ready to lend a hand whenever needed.
