We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Covington Fire employs 20 career firefighters. There are 13 EMT-IV's on staff. We respond to all medical calls, vehicle accidents, fire emergencies, hazmat incidents, and other emergencies within our fire district. In Decemeber 1996, we moved into 2 new fire stations. We currently operate 4 pumpers, 1 aerial ladder, 1 haz mat unit, and 1 tanker. We have a Haz Mat team and Confined Space/High Angle Rescue Team. Our haz mat unit responds to our county and surrounding counties.
