About Colton Volunteer Fire Rescue Department:
Colton Volunteer Fire Rescue Department proudly protects 1620 people living in an area of 103 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Colton Volunteer Fire Department was created on January 9. 1911. Nothing more is know since the records from 1911 until 1922 are missing. Ed Lifto was the fire chief in 1922. The department's 21 members at that time used a chemical and hose cart to put out fires. A slight name change to Colton Volunteer Fire Rescue Department occurred along the way.
