About Central Campbell County Fire Department / Fire District # 2:
Central Campbell County Fire District proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 25 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Central Campbell County Fire District was formed from the mergerer of Cold Spring - Crestview Volunteer Fire Department / Campbell County Fire District # 2 and Highland Heights Volunteer Fire Department on December 31, 1999 at 00:00 hours. The Central Campbell County Fire District covers the cities of Cold Spring, Crestview, and Highland Heights, Kentucky, also we cover the campus of Northern Kentucky University and the surounding unincorpirated areas of Campbell County, Kentucky that surrounds the cities. The department has 9 full time employees, including the Fire Chief 6 of whom work 24 / 48 hour rotations at the Cold Spring Station. 2 work a 50 hour week Monday thru Friday 10 hours a day (07:30 to 17:30) at the Highland Heights Station. The Fire Chief is in his office at the Cold Spring Station Monday thru Friday 08:00 to 16:00.
