About Bradley County Emergency Medical Service:
Bradley County Emergency Medical Service proudly protects 72000 people living in an area of 338 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. We are a county run ALS service that is staffed by 62 qualified EMT's and Paramedics licensed through the state of Tennessee. Most of these employees are part-time. The full-time employees work 8 hour shifts during the week, and open slots are filled in by part-time people. We staff 5 ALS units during the day, 4 ALS units at night, and 3 ALS units after midnight. We run an average of 35 calls a day. If we get into an overload situation, the Cleveland/Bradley County Rescue Service has an ambulance that is available to us if needed. Our Medical Director is Dr. Jerry Devane, an emergency room physician at Bradley Memorial Hospital. Dr. Devane will respond with us if needed, and is readily available to assist us in any way.
