About Jefferson County Fire District #1:
Jefferson County Fire District #1 proudly protects 6500 people living in an area of 35 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Jefferson County Fire District #1 (Just South Of Historic Port Townsend and accross the Puget Sound from Seattle) is in a small but rapidly growing community. We serve the Chimacum, Irondale and Port Hadlock communities. We are paid/vounteer dept. with 6 members full time and 40 volunteers. We have Fire Fighter/Paramedics on duty 24hrs. a day and are shared with our sister fire dist. Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue. We avg. Appox 700 calls a year. Our Head Quaters, Station 11 is manned 24 hours with both on call crews and paid Staff, Station 12 is staffed with on call crews. We have 3 engines, 2 tenders 3 ambulances, 1 paramedic response vehicle and 1 rescue truck.
