About Laramie County Fire District #2:
Laramie County Fire District #2 proudly protects 13,000 people living in an area of 1,035 square miles. We operate out of 5 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. What it Takes To be considered, you must ... Be at least 19 years old. Possess a high school diploma or GED. Commit to provide at least two years of service to the department, if selected. Possession of a valid driver's license is required for emergency service personnel. Successfully complete the selection process. Meet medical and physical requirements. Successfully complete a probationary period of two years during that time fulfilling monthly service and training requirements and any additional conditions of your probationary contract. After successfully completing your probationary period, you must meet all department service and training requirements. All members, both probationary and permanent are required to attend 50% of department meetings and training. Failure to meet this requirement may result in dismissal from the Fire District. The department's Explorer Post is associated with the Boy Scouts of America and is a charter member of this organization. The department charted its Post in the spring of 1992. Youth between the ages of 14-21 may participate.
