About Pleasant Township Fire:
Pleasant Township Fire proudly protects 3100 people living in an area of 54.4 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status. Pleasant Township Fire has been protecting the citizens of Pleasant Township since 1948. What started out as one Engine parked in the old Village jail has grown over the past 51 years. We now operate 7 pieces of apparatus out of a 5 bay station. In addition to Pleasant Township we also serve 12 square miles of Union Township in Champaign County. We have operated in a joint Rescue District with Harmony Township since 1991 to provide both communities with the JAWS OF LIFE. Both the truck and the equipment were purchased in 45 days through fund-raising and public donations. We are a professional organization, which strives to make Pleasant Township a safe place to live.
