About Oviedo Fire Department Explorer Post 977:
We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Fire Explorer Post 977 is jointly chartered to the City of Oviedo Fire Department and the Boy Scouts of America. The Post explores the career of firefighting and the Emergency Medical Services. The program is open to youth ages 14-20. The youth actually have the opportunity to attend Department emergencies after they have received certain levels of training.
