Cape May City Fire Dept. proudly protects 6000 winter 40000 summer people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The CMFD has 10 professional & 40 volunteer firefighters. our paid dept. runs all EMS calls. Our town consists of mainly buildings built in the 1800's (balloon frame construction).
