About Alarka Volunteer Fire Dept.:
Alarka Volunteer Fire Dept. proudly protects 1300 people living in an area of approx. 30 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Alarka VFD was organized in 1993. Currently there are 22 members on the roster. All members are volunteers and must undergo at least 36 hours of training per year. The AVFD operates on approx. $30,000 per year, with $15,000 coming from a county budget and the remainder through various fundraising events held by the dept. and ladies auxilliary. Also a very special thanks goes out to each and every member of the community that supports us.
