About Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department:
Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 1800 to 2400 people living in an area of 875 square miles. We operate out of two stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Brookesmith VFD has 24 active members Brookesmith VFD also has 125 supportive members Brookesmith VFD operates on 154.325 mhz. Brookesmith VFD answers to mutual aid call to all Brown Co. Depts. Brookesmith VFD also answers to mutual aid calls to McCulloch, Coleman, Mills and San Saba Counties. Current Apparatus Housed at the Brookesmith Station: Unit 781: 1 ton 4x4 300 gal. Brush Truck Unit 782: 2.5ton 6x6 1200 gal Brush/Tender Truck Unit 783: 5 ton 6x6 2500 gal Tender/Tanker Current Apparatus Housed at Indian Creek Station: Unit 780: 1 ton 4x4 300 gal Brush Truck Our department is operated on donations and fund raiser within our local community
