North Shelby Fire and Emergency Medical District proudly protects 32000 people living in an area of 26 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. North Shelby Fire District is a middle to upper class suburb of Birmingham. We have a staff of 25 paid professinal firefighters of which 19 are licensed Paramedics. We operate 3 Advanced Life Support Engines, 1-75 foot Quint that is equipped with Basic Life Support equipment and a Command Vehicle.
