About Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company:
Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company proudly protects 5000 Winter 20000 Summer people living in an area of 11 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The BBVFC provides Fire-Rescue services to the towns of Bethany Beach, South Bethany, Fenwick Island and the unincorporated areas of Middlesex Beach, North Bethany, the Delaware Seashore State Park and the Fenwick Island State Park. The BBVFC district runs from the Indian River Inlet south to the Maryland state line at Ocean City. The BBVFC operates under mutual aid agreements with several surrounding departments including Millville VFC, Roxana VFC, Indian River VFC, Rehoboth Beach VFC and Ocean City, MD, VFC. Primary EMS services in the BBVFC district are provided by Sussex County EMS paramedics, Millville VFC and Roxana VFC. All BBVFC personnel are volunteers trained at the Delaware State Fire School. Monthly training and in-service courses are offered on a continuos basis to members.
