About Belmar First Aid Squad:
Belmar First Aid Squad proudly protects 7000 people living in an area of 1 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Belmar First Aid Squad was organized in 1927 and is believed to be the oldest independent volunteer squad in the U.S. We average 900 ems calls per year and cover the Borough of Belmar which is 1 square mile. The summer season is our busiest time of year, with an influx of visitors sometimes passing the 50,000 person mark. We also cover the many events that take place in the summer, such as the N.J. Seafood festival, The professional Volleyball Tournament and other misc. events. The Squad is able to operate because of the contributions of the generous residents of Belmar.
