Volunteer Barto Fire Company proudly protects 3354 people living in an area of 14.14 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Vol. Barto Fire Co., chartered in 1948, is the designated fire company of Washington Twp, Berks County, PA. The township surrounds two borough fire departments which provide mutual aid in the township. These companies are Goodwill Fire Company #14 in Bally and the Keystone Fire Company #20 in Bechtelsville.
