About Augusta Volunteer Fire Department:
Augusta Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 2500 people living in an area of 50 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The department was organized over 75 years ago, up until 1995 we were using a 1964 American Lafrance Pumper, as our primary pumper, since then we have purchased a 1995 E-One Pumper, a 1998 E-one Rescue, and a 2000 International Tanker.
