About Knappa Fire District:
Knappa Fire District proudly protects 4500 people living in an area of 44 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Serving the Columbia River Valley since 1953, The Knappa Fire District provides fire suppresion and Advanced Life support EMS to the residents and visitors to the area. Operating from three stations strategically located throughout the area. The District apparatus consist of 3 pumpers, 2-3000 gpm gal. tenders. 1 heavy rescue, 1 light Rescue, 1 ALS Medic Unit, 2 Wildland engines and 1 staff vehicle. The services provided consist of Heavy extrication utilizing a complete Holmatro Rescue system. Steep angle rescue, water rescue and limited confined space rescue. The area is predominently rural, boundried by the Columbia River to the North and Wickiup Mountain to the South. Our district also provides protection to HWY. 30, the gateway to the scenic pacific coastal beaches and recreational areas.
