Ash-Rand Rescue Squad & EMS, Inc. proudly protects 130,000 people living in an area of 803 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect urban and rural areas. Our department is a private department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Chartered on Sept. 12, 1962. Our organization is divided into four areas of service. Heavy Rescue, EMS, Search & Rescue Team, Dive Rescue Team Our Rescue Division is North Carolina certified at the Heavy Rescue level and has 12 personnel certified as Emergency Rescue Technicians and 8 personnel certified as Basic Rescue Technicians. Ash-Rand Rescue has been designated as a Type II USAR resource and has been awarded the status of NC TASK FORCE 7 by the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management. Our EMS Division operates at the EMT-Intermediate level. Our Search & Rescue Team has 9 personnel certified at the SARTECH I level and 12 personnel certified at the SARTECH II level. Our Dive Rescue Team has 8 personnel certified as Dive Rescue I Specialists and 3 personnel certified as Dive Rescue II Specialists.
