About Anderson Volunteer Fire and EMS Department:
Anderson Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 500-700 people living in an area of 100 square miles. We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Anderson Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer department. The department consists of 10 EMT's and 13 fire fighters. We have a search and rescue division with two snowmachines, 1 med sled, and an air boat. The department also has 1 engine, 1 rescue truck an ambulance, a brush truck and a water tender. AVFD is governed by the City Council of Anderson. The department has mutual aid agreements with Nenana FD, Clear Air Station FD, Alaska State Division of Forestry, and Tri Valley FD.
