About Alamo West Fire and Rescue:
Alamo West Fire Rescue proudly protects approximately 2500 people living in an area of 177 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are an all Volunteer Fire Rescue Department that serves with pride and is proud to be a member service of the American fire and emergency services community. Each of our members strive to better themselves as individuals and as team players to serve and protect the community. Our primary response area covers the White Sands National Monument (National Park). We also provide auto-mutual aid for three adjacent County Fire Districts as well as the City of Alamogordo, Holloman AFB and primary back-up EMS response for the local private Ambulance Service, American Medical Response (AMR). With our mutual aid service areas we cover a population of over 40,000 people.
